My
artwork today, is born of childhood imagination and a deep love of books.
I grew up imersed in tales of adventurous children, running free and
discovering magic and mystery at every turn.
From tales of ancient standing stones, and lost cottages, to strange
old rambling
Country houses and forgotten Cornish coves.
Moving from Cambridgeshire to Cornwall in my early 20's was the catalyst
for the translation of these memories into my work.
I use Watercolour, often in a rather non traditional way, for it's misty,
transparent qualities, and yet it's ability to be so rich and vibrant.
I like to feel that each artwork has a story to tell. That sometimes
not even I know.
It gives us a mere glimse of a moment in time, but ultimately, it is
a story as yet untold.
Spiritual
deities, or Cornish landscapes... the similarities lie in the symbolism
entwined within. The subject must move me emotionally in order to capture
it's essence on paper. Both of these subjects fill a large part of my
life.
