Art usage & Copyright

All work on this site is copyright Julia Guthrie and is protected by UK and International Copyright Laws. I allow certain non-commercial/ non-profit usage of my artwork, however there are a number of conditions for usage. Commercial or profit making usage is not permitted unless the user has a licensing agreement with me. This includes making any kind of product such as keyrings, bookmarks, cross stitch etc.

I don't allow usage of my artwork for Websets or Tubes. No exceptions!

* Non-profit/ non-commercial usage only (Bartering is considered to be a 'Profit' activity. Do not use my work as 'payment')
* Proportional resizing is allowed, as is the addition of frames, minor animations, blinkies and feathering of borders. Cropping or displaying a portion of the original image is NOT allowed.
* Please do not remove the character from the background.
* Re-colouring, altering the actual image is NOT allowed.
* The copyright must remain on the image and not be obstructed. If it is, the text "© www.juliaguthrie.com" or "© Julia Guthrie " must be clearly visible somewhere on the tag.
* The copyright of the artwork still remains with me as per Copyright Law. Please put the credit line text "© Julia Guthrie" anywhere the artwork appears. Please link back to this website on all web use of my work.

If you would like to create icons using my artwork, please add 'Artwork ©Julia Guthrie & 'http://www.juliaguthrie.co.uk' to the description tag. Do not hotlink to my thumbnails.

I regularly police how my artwork is being used and I will revoke all rights if I find people not abiding by my rules.

NOR may you use my website design as this was also created by me & is copyrighted!

Q: If I buy your art as a print or an original, can I make things from it, or sell copies?

A: NO. This is illegal. All rights are retained by me as the artist on my artwork in any form. Unless you obtain a licensing contract from me to re-sell my artwork, it would be an infringement of the Copyright laws.

Q: How do I obtain a licensing contract?
A: Please email me with details of your company & how you wish to use my art.

ACEOS

Q: What is an ACEO?

A: ACEO stands for 'Art Cards, Originals and Editions'. They are miniature works of art in Trading Card size. A standard 2.5 x 3.5 inches. They are either Originals or a limited edition run of prints. All come protected in acid free, clear trading card sleeves.

If you ask for a print of an ACEO it will only be available in this size!

Q: Do you sell prints?

A: Yes. See individual artworks for purchase details

Postage/ shipping costs: These are calculated by the shopping cart once you have chosen your items. Once you have completed the order & chosen the correct shipping option your payment will be processed via Paypal. If paying by credit card you do not need to sign up for an account.

For UK purchases, if you wish to pay via cheque please contact me by email to place your order.

A NOTE REGARDING SHIPPING OPTIONS: *IMPORTANT*

In the shopping cart you will notice 4 shipping options. 'UK, Overseas, Small items (UK), & Small items (overseas)'. The 'Small Items' option is available to you if you are only buying a couple of the smaller products such as a bookmark or a keyring etc.

If you are adding a print (s) to your order, please select one of the standard options (UK or Overseas), regardless of whether you are buying a small item or not.

This is so that anyone wishing to purchase a single or couple of small items will not have to pay too much postage on them! If anyone should abuse this system & try to buy a print (s) using the small items option, I reserve the right not to send any goods until the correct monies have been paid.

If you require extra insurance on your parcel please contact me separately (before placing an order) so that I can arrange it.

*Recorded Delivery = 72p (Available in UK only)

*International signed for = £3.50 (Available Overseas only)

Q: Do you offer refunds or returns?

A: All items are non-refundable & I only accepts returns on damaged items. I will replace the item on the provision that the customer contacts me within 30 days of the shipment date and that the original item is sent back to me. If you are not happy with a product please contact me with your concerns. Tracking is only able to be provided on Insured/ Registered post, and replacements for lost items is only available on tracked items.

Q: How much do you charge for commissions?
A: That will depend greatly on many things, from the size of the picture, to how long it will take. A standard watercolour will usually start at around £80 - £100

Q: Is your original artwork for sale?
A: Currently I am not offering any original art for sale except ACEOS, however, if you are particularly interested in purchasing a piece feel free to email me & you might get lucky!
